THIS ISN'T THE WAY TO GO

Right from the onset, I'm not the type who support a political party or a candidate; instead, I even go to length in making research about each candidate to know their flaws and as well use the opportunity to enlighten the general public about how terrible each politician is, no matter how much they tried to paint themselves as a stain. Unfortunately, most people tend to turn a blind eye and deaf ears to anything that's not their favorite candidate, and that act kind of annoys me.

What I've found out about all of these is that most people are easily influenced by celebrities and some Influencers  in society or social media, and whenever most of these people take a stand about a particular matter, their followers tend to go along with their views, thinking they are ominiknowest. Of course, there's nothing bad in having a view about something and wanting it to happen, but when it comes to using your position to influence other people's opinions, then that's bad.

Well, I guess that's their choice, but as I was saying, it's more annoying when you see people follow these influencers blindly, and when someone tells them the truth about the person they're following, they literally get angry and don't even want to listen to whatever you've got to say, inasmuch as it's against their stand, no Matter how true your words are.

For example, during the course of the election, most of these celebrities were all over social media, going to length to paint their favorite candidate as a saint and painting another one as bad, even though I know deep down that both are evil. Well, when these influencers say these things, I see most of my friends follow suit and start talking about what those celebrities just said and how that will continually influence their decisions on who to vote.

I can remember opposing all of these, and that made me look like the black sheep, the supporter, or their opposition parties. Well, that aside, yesterday I wrote a post about something terrible happening in the eastern part of the country and how most of the celebrities who were ranting about everything going on in Lagos have now all of a sudden gone quiet about what is happening in their own state because it would paint all of their claims in the past as bad.

After writing and publishing the post, I tried to call the attention of some of my friends with whom we usually argue all of these discussions in the past to come say their views about what I wrote; unfortunately, most of them gave an excuse about being too busy after reading the topic, while others read but only gave me more hypocritical responses in DM. It's so disheartening to see within ourselves here at the subsidiary level that we've decided to turn a blind eye to the truth just so we won't look wrong.

I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion and choice of candidates, but we shouldn't turn a blind eye to the truth about our favorite candidates or justify their evil actions. I can't imagine the pain the people in the east are going through, and yet most of the vocal influencers from a few months ago have now decided to keep quiet, and their followers also follow suit.

That's the act of a hypocrite, and if we truly want the good of the country, then we should all start speaking up about the evil ongoing in the east via Simeon Ekpan's command. If these ain't tamed and spoken against on time, then I fear for the east and pray what happened in the north wouldn't replay itself again, because this was exactly how the boko haram insurgents began there. Like I said yesterday, I'm not again Biafra coming to reality, but we can't keep terrorizing the people we claim we're fighting for their liberation, and still those who aren't affected are keeping quiet about it.

Well, that's all about that. I've voiced my opinion and stated what I felt wasn't supposed to be so, as a citizen who wants the betterment of our dear nation.

Thanks for your time, have a blessed week ahead.
