The importance of education can never be overemphasized, as it's one of the pathways to success, the key to unlocking greatness, and many other things in life. In order to get a quality education, parents have had several contemplations on whether to take their wards to private or public schools, but both have their good and bad sides, and today I'll be sharing my opinion on both as someone who has passed through both types of schools.
Although I think it's worth noting that while most people in Europe and top-tier countries where things are much better will most likely go for public schools because their governments provide basically everything that's required to make knowledge dissemination and acquisition much easier, private schools will find it hard to provide such amenities for their schools. The reverse seems to be the case in third-world countries like mine, where public schools seem to have the best amenities, but does that make them the best?

Like I said earlier, I was lucky to experience both forms of schooling, and I must say this happened when I was in primary school. I happened to attend a private school in my neighborhood, where I was literally the best in my class. I regularly came first in class, but my parents took a closer look at my activities at home and weren't pleased with the fact that I was getting the first position in school, and yet I seemed not to know the basics that other kids of my age do, so they changed me to another private school.
In the new private school, my secret was open for all to see because I moved from being first to 17th and was a little below average of the total students in my class in the new school. Obviously, from that experience, my parents got to realize that not all private schools are good and that each type of school has its own grade or category. Though I came out in a lesser position compared to my former school, yet I became brighter academically.
After graduating from there, I attended two public schools for my secondary education, and almost like the same pattern my primary education went, the same plays out in my secondary school because I also had to leave the first school to another public school before my performance academically improved once again.
But then, in response to the first question about if I enjoyed my education or not, I'll say it's complicated because despite the fact that I seem to like it, I'm not pleased by the act of moving from one institution to another. I guess this was what deprived me of having many childhood friends or schoolmate that I still know till now.

Each of the types of schools I attended has its own benefits, and I'll state them as I remember them below.
BENEFITS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS
- Highly trained and qualified teachers.
- Access to extra curricular activities.
- Extensive moral values are been instill into students.
- Access to scholarship and government intervention.
- Free education/subsidizes fee etc.
BENEFITS OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS
- Conductive learning environment
- Less population and access to closer monitoring by teachers.
- Access to gadgets that ease assimilation of knowledge.
- Extra curricular activities etc...

Below are some of my opinions on what should be changed or things that should be implemented in both types of schools.
PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUGGESTIONS
- Reduce the population of learners in each classes.
- Employ more qualified teachers, although public schools usually employees qualified teachers, they seems to lack enough manpower for the population of the students in each school's.
- Adoption of modern ICT device's that will ease understanding of learners etc.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS SUGGESTIONS
- Employing of more qualified teachers
- Implementation of more discipline and moral values inside the school.
- Subside school fee to give room for the less privileged who seek the best for their wards.
- Curb bullying and discrimination among suffered by the kids of not too parent Etc.
That's about all of my opinion on the various types of schools, although, like I said earlier, both have grades, so we can't all judge or see things equally. But, like I said about the differences between the top world nations and the third world countries, the views of public and private schools are hugely different, but if I had to choose one to send my wards to in my country here, then I'll still go to the public schools even though public schools have a stigma of not being too good, but if it's in top world countries like the UK, I'll send them to public schools as well.
