Since the advent of social media, the world as experienced a shift on the perspective of how people see and do things, and as it's as had a positive impact, so as it had it negative impact as well.
When taken my opinion into consideration, I'll say the impact of social media towards lives and businesses can never be overemphasized, my opinion of this topic is prompted by the @hive-learners Community feature topic for the 3rd edition of the 5th week as stated below, you can also join and share your thoughts in the community.
THE EVOLUTION OF SOCIAL MEDIA Social Media came to the forefront about ten to fifteen years ago and since then it has grown in popularity and there will be no stopping it. Over the years, more platforms have emerged and changes have been made to existing ones. Tell us two reasons you like social media. And also two reasons you feel it is bad.
REASONS WHY I LOVE SOCIAL MEDIA
- **COMMUNICATION/CONNECTION
Social media as given us the privilege to connect with our friends and love one from the comfort of our home or anywhere we find ourselves, without any string or barrier of distance between we and such person.
It as also make live Communication virtual, through video call and the likes.

**Entertainment**
Each time I'm bored or seem to lack intrested in things around me, I just find my way to social media and from comedian videos or funny news being uploaded there, I get entertained and cheerful again.
Social media is a place fill with so much liveliness and the likes.

NEGATIVITY OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Since the inception of social media,it as taken the time and attention of most people in this generation till the point where they get addicted, and neglect other activities that ought to be done physical, Like family time, study and the likes, through to the addiction most students ended up on social media when they want to search for topic related to their studies.

**INTELLECTUAL FRAUD/THEFT**
Social media is a place where we've seen different people go and get defrauded of their assets and fund, the rate of internet theft as increase over the years and it's a shame how some people as taken it as a full time job and how you see some kids on the street and all they'll tell you they want to become is internet theft (yahoo yahoo).
