Prior to graduating from college, I always imagined myself working as an IT personnel in a well-to-do organization or as a teacher grooming and molding the young ones to the future person they'll be proud of, but my dreams for all of this were dashed when someone I'd been meaning to secure such a job from via his connection offered me the opportunity to work under his organization.
I'm sure you're wondering why my hope was dashed, since I'd always looked forward to getting a suitable job through his connections, well the thing is that although he has a very good connection, people in his leagues of friends are bankers, IT firm personnel, and some other top firm, but despite that, his own organization might be reputable and profitable, because it meets the needs of people on a daily basis, but it was never my type of job.
He owns a gas station in a different area of the neighborhood, and his main business is selling gas and other gas-related cooking appliances. My job there required me to work as the storekeeper and the sales representative simultaneously, and personally, I don't think such work is appropriate for a graduate like me, nor do the pay levels.

Truth be told, I did bring this on myself, or did I not? Well, in a way, I did because I disregarded the adage that advises people not to put all their eggs in one basket. I literally trusted him that he'd connect me with some of his friends who worked at some of my desired workplace, to the point where I failed to apply for jobs in other places, but was it entirely my fault?
On the other hand, and the reason I felt he deserved some forms of blame, is that I repeatedly approached him about my desire to work at one of his friends' organizations, and I would really appreciate it if he could put in a good word for me whenever I decided to apply. His response was to tell me to be at ease and calm because, once I graduated from university, he would undoubtedly ensure that I got a job at his friends' company.
However, after I graduated from university, the story changed. Rather than taking me to his friend as we had agreed, he instead took me to one of his own personal organization branches and asked that I work with him for the time being. I was angry inside, but I made an effort to maintain a smile. After hearing all of his explanation, I thanked him and asked that he give me some time to gather my belongings because I don't know how to decline his offer, even though I don't want to.

I started the work, and my time there was a roller coaster of a tale. It all began well enough, but then some of his employees began manipulating sales and giving him less than they sold. When he realized he was losing money, he began acting oddly toward me and hired new staff to audit our sales.
Since I always do things correctly, I had no reason to be concerned when the auditor came to check my sales. Unlike others whose differences are so great, everything was found to be in order with mine. In fact, after the auditing, he discovered that some of his staff had carted off millions. Despite this discovery, he continued to act strangely toward me, telling me to my face that I probably hide my loot so well that he can't find it but he'll find out soon enough.
Despite how hurtful and painful these words are, I am able to live with them until I find another job. On various occasions, I have seen him rush into my store without warning to check my sales records and see if I have been stealing from him. However, on those occasions, he never discovered anything, and he doesn't changed his habits.

I only had a brief 6-month employment with him before I had to resign since I couldn't take it any longer. He was enraged when I handed him my letter of resignation and he made sure to completely check the business to ensure that all of his things were present and undamaged.
I recall him calling me a few weeks after I left, yelling indignantly that he had finally discovered how I had stolen from him. I just smiled and waited for him to explain. He then said that a customer had just stopped by and was paying me in installments so he could buy some gas cooking utensils. He then asked why I hadn't dropped the money before I left, implying that I was a thief.
With the anger and irritation I had been feeling up until that point, I first gave him a piece of my mind by telling him how awful he is without holding back, and then I reminded him that I hoped he realized I resigned at the beginning of a new month and asked, Did he bother to pay me for the last full month I worked before leaving?
In regards to the installment payment the customer was referring to, I informed him that I gave it to the auditor right before I left because he didn't want to speak with me on the day I left, As a result, I tell them to go see the auditor to get their money, I angrily drop the call and a few hours later, he paid me my final wage.

Despite the fact that it was a real eye opener and I gained a lot from the experience, my first job was not at all enjoyable, so when I was finally able to leave, I was relieved. I now hope never to work for another employer like that one again.
Thanks so much for staying with me thus far, I hope you had a great time reading through this piece, have a wonderful day today.
