Recap of Highlights from the Hive Ghana Discord Hangout

The hive Ghana community discord show that holds every Sunday evening is a space I've come to enjoy and continually look forward to, given the wonder impact it has added to my knowledge about the hive blockchain and aiding the growth of her users generally. Although I was somewhat busy and had to attend two spaces at the same time this Sunday, due to my desire to learn, I had to find a way to multitask, and I must tell you that I didn't regret it.

Like I said earlier, I had another voice meeting I was co-hosting on Discord at the same time, and that made me come a bit late, but then, after playing my part in the other meetings, I came onboard and greeted everyone. As I'm the type of person who loves to keep to time, I had to apologize in a hilarious way by saying apologies for coming early rather than coming late.     As of when I joined, they were discussing curation and one of the ways to earn curation rewards on the hive blockchain. At first, I thought the discussion was about setting up a curation trail for the community, but I later found out it's all about setting up a fanbase on the hive.vote interface that helps you support your favorite author whenever they publish a post, and that will be automated even when such a post is published in your absence.

Our host for the show @aunty-tosin alongside @awuahbenjamin and @mcsamm did justice to this subject matter and highlighted some of the key reasons why we should do this to support our favorite author and to also help the community grow, as we built a strong network of friends that aid each other's growth on the hive blockchain.   IMG_20231010_193012.jpg

Although I knew about this before and had some people on my fanbase autovote prior to this, I then used the opportunity to include more friends who I know are great authors to benefit from my vote even when I'm not around, and that's a cool thing, I must say. Aside from the fact that it helps other users' votes, it also rewards us because we tend to earn more curation rewards when we support more authors via our upvote.

We also discussed the importance of engagement and the need to indulge in it to get more visible on the hive and to acquire more friends who we can go on to aid each other's growth moving forward. During that discussion, Nkem shared her take on the subject matter, the importance of quality engagement, and how people show stopping to see reblogs as a way they can use to claim they support others.   McSam and Sir Benjamin shed more light on that, saying that though reblogging makes our post visible to the audience of whoever shares it, since we're also still growing, that won't have an impact, like someone who has a huge significance on Hive does, because when someone with great significance reblogging our post, they make our post more visible to more support and likes.   IMG_20231010_192923.jpg

During that conversation, @cindynancy asked a question about how someone can be significant in a hive. I tried to share my take on that, and the picture below shows what I told her. Our other speakers also talked about reputation, impact on hives, like impactful projects built on hives, and some life-changing innovative ideas some suggested, like the Hive Ghana borehole project proposal that is changing lives in Ghana. Those are ways to be significant and have a say on hives.

That's about all of my experience and what I learned. There were other discussions I might have missed, but in conclusion, we had to choose those who'd indulge in the hive Ghana vblog content, which was later agreed to be an all-female selection after the first three nominees were ladies. The new week host was also nominated before we called it a night.   And I'll love to appreciate everyone who graces the show and exposes us to their well of wisdom on the hive blockchain and life at large.

Thanks for your time. Have a wonderful day ahead.
