My write-up today is in response to the @newbies-hive initiative tasks 3 given to we the participants, to talk extensively on what we understood about the tutorial post made by @bruno-kema and the discussion we had on the same topic in the smile Discord channel some weeks ago, where we were equip with concrete knowledge about the importance of each keys, how to recover an account and the process of choosing a trustee for our account recovery.
So without further ado, come with me as I explain my understanding of each and everyone lessons we've learnt via the discussion and tutorial post, I believe when thoroughly followed till the end you would learn new stuff and enhance your knowledge on how to save guard your account and much more.

**OWNERS KEY**
The owners key is the most important key among the list of keys related to each account on the hive blockchain, and it core uses are to recover a lost account and to generate the other keys.

**MASTER KEY**
Just like the owners key, the master key could be tag as one of the most important keys on hive blockchain, because it can virtually do everything the owners key can do, from using it to generate other keys, to using for recovering of one's account.
The master key unlike most other keys is only found in the mail sent to our mailbox from the dapp we registered through.
It's also refer to as recovery key, this I discovered recently, because I always felt @3speak didn't send my master key alongside the other keys sent to my mailbox, but recently I got realise that the recovery key among the list of keys sent to my mail is my master key.

**ACTIVE KEY**
The active keys is the key use for most financial related transactions done on the hive blockchain, and the transactions it could be use for includes; Powering up, powering down, purchasing of token, transfering of tokens and conversion of Hbd to hive or vise versa.
The active key should be kept confidential, else when in the wrong hands, could lead to lost of your asset on the blockchain.

**POSTING KEY**
The posting key is use to login to most dapp that grant us access to the blockchain, and main uses/power are centered around posting, reblogging, voting ability, editing and commenting on hive blockchain.
Although the key doesn't grant you or anyone permission the permission to make financial transactions, but then it shoe still be kept confidential.

**MEMO KEY**
The memo key is the least important key on the blockchain and it could as well be tag the least use key on the blockchain, and the main use is for sending and receiving private encoded messages that can only be read by the authorise person it was sent to.

BEST WAYS OF KEEPING OUR KEYS SAFE
If you thoroughly go through the above listed keys and their importance, then you'll come to the conclusion that of a truth, it's of esteem important that we keep them safe in different places where we can access them when needed and far from the reach of anyone other than us, so as to keep our assets safe and as well to be able to recover our account should in case one of the keys got leak one way or another, so below are some ways of keeping our keys.
- Backup in your mail draft: One of the ways of keeping our keys is by backing them up in our mail box, so should in case we change our device or it got lost/stolen, then you can easily login to your mail from another device and have access to it again.
- Save as PDF: Saving our keys as pdf is a very vital way of keeping our keys, and then you can easily lock such PDF file with another key only you can remember and have access to.

Cloud Storage: Our keys can be backup in cloud storage on the net, and we can easily have access to it even if all our physical properties got destroy or stolen.

Hardcopy: Once we save our keys as pdf, we can easily go print out the file to have a had copy of the keys, which we can then keep in safe place free from trespassers.

HOW TO CHECK AND RECOVER YOUR ACCOUNT
To recover our account back in a situation whereby we lost our account got hacked or keys got lost, the recovery account is the best path way through which we can gain access back to our account, and below I'll be taking your through the step by step processes of recovering your account.
Firstly it's of esteem important that you set check your account was set as your recovery/trustee account should in case your account got hacked, though most time the dapp through which we registered to hive via is usually used as our trustee account, but in a situation where you have someone you can trust to help you recover your account in case such hacking situation occur, below are the guide towards recovering your account.

**HOW TO CHECK AND REPLACE YOUR YOUR TRUSTEE ACCOUNT**
To check who as been manually choosen as your recovery account via peakd, simply click on the 3 doted line in your profile beside settings, after which you can choose keys and permission from the pop-up window that popped out, another pop-up will appear, choose recovery password from the list and stroll down to view which account is state as your account trustee.
So to change your account trustee to someone your know, trust and can easily contact whenever you need to recovery your account, kindly follow the listed proceess:
Step one: Visit https://reazuliqbal.com/HiveAccountRecovery/ website, and image like the one below will appear, which will guide your toward which ever step you want to do.
Step 2: To change your account trustee, click on the red box you saw after finishing step one, and follow the instructions that pop-up, then choose a new account trustee that you know, and finally enter your master key.
Step 3: To recover your account incase it got hacked, click on the blue box as seen in the image in step one, and follow the instructions as prompt in the images below;
Step 4: As a trustee who wants to help your friend recovery his/her account, simply click on the green box as seen in the image in step one, then follow the instructions as promptly explain in the image below.
With the above listed steps/guiy thoroughly followed, I believe our account will be in safe hands and should in case we lose our access to our account due to one reason or another, then we'll be assured and at rest that our account can be easily recovery.
