Eid Mubarak!! and Happy Eid el-Fitr to our Muslim family in the Needleworkmonday Community and hive at large, I pray we'll all have the reason to celebrate always, it's always a thing of joy to be among like mind, gracing my sight with mind-blowing needlework skills and achievements, so today I present one of my latest footwear which I gifted a client to celebrate the Eid el-Fitr.
Today is the day Muslims in my country celebrate the ending of the fasting which begins on the 2nd day of April, so the government declared today and tomorrow a public holiday for all civil servants, but I decided to grant myself an holiday as well.
Even though I'm not a civil servant, the stress I pass through in the past three days just to make sure I put a smile on all my clients face and not disappoint them, make me to work but day and night, and obviously that as affect the rate at which I engage on hive and the community, but thank God it's all over now, after working late in the night till 3am, my partner @harhess deliver most the Footwear's to our customers, while I slept till about 1pm.
We'll not to bore you with my chitty chat, this half shoe project was make for one of my regular client, and this time around he place order for 4 Footwear's, one for him, and parents and his finance, and after concluding on the prize, and got through with all the project, I only collected money for 3 of the footwear and gave him this as my present π to celebrate the season and his relentless patronage and recommendations to his network.
My making this half shoe, here are some of the process;
-
First I cut the leather material, and the linning, while the sole and insole is a ready-made Birkenstock material.
-
Then I apply gum on some part of the upper and lining, joined it together and then sew it around.
-
After that, I grinded the upper with a grinder and then, apply gum on it back and then insole, which I later join together and tested it fitting on a shoe last.
-
Once the shape was perfect, I rub gum on the insole and Marco outsole, which I allow to dry off for some minutes and then joined them together.

And here is how elegant the half shoe looks.
