Poor bank networks render the cashless policy ineffective

I doubt there is much stuff that hears the idea of being broke and having money but being unable to access or use it when you've got different tasks pending that require money to be completed, and today is a perfect example of how frustrated I could be due to such a situation as I ended up going back and forth looking for various means to get cash for the pending tasks.

The effect of the change in currency has been one that lingers for far too long than I anticipated; I've been quite conscious of how much of the old note I've got with me. Because if the deadline isn't changed, then the old policy would be useless in less than 24 hours from now, and since I don't want to be the once-yo loser, I've decided to inculcate a cashless policy to help me avoid losing.

The downside of these is that cashless policy isn't something that can thrive so easily in Nigeria, given the poor bank ussd network and that of the bank app. One of such issues was what I experienced today, when I bought an item in my neighborhood and wanted to transfer the funds to the store owner, but all of a sudden nothing was going through, and this was after I'd already used some of the items I was given.

Frustration I believe would be an understatement for how I felt at that moment, because the seller might think I intentionally did that knowing fully well that I couldn't pay, but luckily for me, she understood the situation and told me I could go then come back to pay when the network is good. This she did because I was a regular in her store prior to that.

i took the remaining money but wasn't still pleased with what happened, so i tried to transfer the funds to my other bank account, but these failed to go through, so i decided to test it by chasing airtime, and it went swiftly. i was annoyed at how airtime purchase would go through and disrupt my funds, yet transfer of funds isn't going through.

In order to maintain my good name and reputation in my neighborhood and with the seller, I sold some honey and withdrew it to my other account, which luckily went through immediately, and finally I can pay her for the product she purchased, although she said I shouldn't have bothered giving myself a headache by paying immediately, but I'd rather have a clean slate than let something utter my reputation.

Today is the deadline for the usage of the old note, although we'll be anticipating the government to extend the deadline. Whether they do or not, I'll try as much as possible to spend the few remaining old notes I have or go to the bank to save them before the bank closes to be on the safe side.

Thanks so much for reading through my post, have a wonderful day ahead.
