Good day and happy weekend to everyone on the hive blockchain, today I'll love to take your through how I planted the stems of cassava around my maize farm, and this idea came up after having a conversation with @flemingfarm in his post where he advice me on companion farming and shared a PDF of plants that tend to enjoy each others companion.
It will be noted that I harvested my cassava some weeks back when I was trying to clear the piece of land for the planting of maize which I posted here, so after talking is flemingfarm, I got inspired to make good use of the piece of land and not just let time while away and harvest the maize before planting other stuffs on the piece of land.
So I cut the log of cassava stems to a smaller log and dug tiny hole between each maize stem, and then inserted the cassava stem vertically so it won't grow to hit or obstruct the growth of the the maize.
I also transplanted some spinach vegetables around the maize which is also one of the few companion plants that goes with the maize as seen in the PDF.
And after a week of the planting of the cassava stems, they've started growing gradually, while some as brought big leafs, some are just popping out, which some have not shown any sign of growing at all.
Then then I keep on watering it alongside other plant and also depend on the rain for better watering.
Hopefully in the end I'll get to have a bountiful harvest.
