Personal Reflections on Noise and Irritation

As an introvert, it's obvious that I'll prefer a secluded place like the comfort of my home, so I won't have to deal with issues of crowds or noise. I'm not a fan of noise, and I kind of don't like disturbing those around me with sounds coming from my end, even though most of this set of people are the opposite. Today, I'll love to tell you about some of the most annoying sounds around me, which literally irritate me when I hear them.     IMG_20240225_215350.jpg

As an individual from this part of the world, there's one sound you would have come across that's just annoying and can get you irritated, and regardless of where you're, this sound seems to act like the key phrase of MTN, which says "everywhere you go." I'm talking about no other sound but the sounds of mosquitoes; they are one of the most common sounds of the night that can distract you from sleeping.     They can be so annoying that you'll think they're intentionally making these sounds to annoy or irritate you because, regardless of how big the room is, they'll find a way to fly towards your ears so they can make their noise and disturb your sweet rest. I've heard this for years, and this has led me to look for different mediums via which I can eradicate them so I'll have a pleasant night's rest, but regardless of how I flit the room, they'll still spring for some hours.     Is it the noise of mosquitoes that annoys me? Another example is the sound of my neighbor's sound system. Even though I'm a lover of music and enjoy listening to it at every given time, my neighbor kind of makes me despise its sounds because of how loud he usually increases the volume when listening to music.   If you want to watch a movie or listen to music, at least you'll do it in a way that it won't affect the people around you, yet my neighbor does the opposite; he'll just play the music at a very high volume, and since it's a huge sound system, the entire wall of the house would be bouncing to the bass of the song, which is very annoying. He makes it even more annoying by not realizing that if he'll at least play, he shouldn't do that at night.   But my neighbor doesn't care about the time; he'll just keep on playing at a high volume even till midnight, and with such a loud noise, one won't be able to sleep. In fact, since we're three in the building, our third neighbor complained to him, but he never changed, and one very day I taught him a lesson of his life by waiting till he switched off his player, then I waited 20 minutes to be sure he's asleep.   I immediately started playing my own song and increased the volume so loudly that I didn't stop until around 5 a.m. I can literally hear him grumble and murmur, but I care less; he dares not be near my door to caution me because he has never listened to any of our continuous complaints about reducing the volume of the player.   I could do that because our third neighbor traveled, and since I've had something to do throughout the night, since that very day I think he knew I intentionally did what I did, and for some weeks thereafter he never played at a high volume again. It's not my kind of thing, but it was a sweet revenge that I enjoyed. He woke up late the following day and couldn't go to work for that reason. I was just smiling from my end of the house.   That's about all the annoying sounds around me that irritate me. I hope you enjoyed the read. Do have a wonderful night's rest.
