Happy Sunday to everyone, and welcome into a new week, which will be a remarkable week for everyone of us in all ramifications, today I'll love to take you through the process of how my new apprentice made his first Footwear Project of a Keyholder made in the shape of a Slippers.
During the past week which my activities (post and engagement) on hive reduce drastically due to my poor state of health, which is now gradually improving all thanks to God, a man who stay in the vicinity of the community where my store is located came to my store alongside his 11year old son, and ask that I should please train his son the nook and cranny of Shoemaking.
I actually first made an enquiry about the boys education, because I felt that's the best gift a parent can gift their children, and he said he's a student in his junior secondary class 2, and that he won't be resuming until after he as close from school in the afternoon, so after we discuss and agree on the fee and amount of years he'll be using for the training, they sign the necessary documents and they boy said he's willing to start his training that very day.
With his level of passion and dedication, I realize he was the one who chose the path himself, even though his dad wanted him to learn vehicle repairing mechanic, am excited his dad allow him to follow his passion.
So he usually arrive at the store after school each day, and after a week of learning and observing all what I've done, I gave him a test by asking him to make a key holder in the shape of a Slippers with some left over material.
- So he first cut he parts needed for the upper of the project.
- After which, he cut the sole and insole and shape it out very well.
- He then punch a hole on the insole, where the upper will be put through.
- One of his mistake his that he only sew one parts of the upper, and forget to sew the other parts, after which he inserted the upper through the hole and apply gum on it.
- He rub gum on the outsole, and and the insole, and join them together, after which he punch a hole on the the sole and put the key ring through it.
- And here is he all smile with his first project, which I have him to take home and show his father what he was able to do after less that a week.

I also make him aware of all the mistakes made, and it repercussions on footwear, which he took note of and promise to made another key holder to practice till he's perfect and ready to handle a proper Footwear.
Thanks so much for coming with me thus far, have a blessed and productive new week ahead.
