The world is a delightful place to be, but then it's full of ups and downs, and these, over time, bring about a mixed feeling depending on how each and everyone sees it. I've had my fair share of exciting moments on earth, and I've also had some experiences that were embarrassing to the point where I felt so ashamed of myself, to the point where I wished I could disappear from that spot due to the impact the scenario had on me.
A few weeks ago, I talked briefly about this particular incident, and I never knew the day I'd talk extensively about it would come this soon. Well, without further ado, let's get into the details about one of my most embarrassing moments.
Since my childhood, I've been the type of person who doesn't have a flair for anything related to fighting or physical combat, so I don't indulge in it, nor do I enjoy watching it, but despite my inability to fight, I'm someone whose mouth is so sharp and who would abuse whoever offends me. I can remember even using my big stature to scare people away from engaging in a fight with me. But deep down, I know I have no strength to beat anyone.
Well, that strategy worked for me throughout my elementary school days, but fast forward to when I was in high school. I had a misunderstanding with a female classmate, and like most girls will do, she started abusing me. Instead of me keeping quiet, I kept giving her double for whichever abuse she abuses me. This continued for awhile, until she couldn't take it anymore.
She walked up to me and gave me a dirty slap. I was shocked, and the pain of the slap made me cry. But it doesn't stop there; while in the process of beating me, she also removed my belt from my trousers and flogged me mercilessly with it. Thankfully, other classmates had to report to the teacher before I was freed from her wrath.
The case was the talk of the entire school throughout that day because most students, including the teachers, still couldn't believe how that girl beat a well-built young boy like me. The embarrassment began from there, but that was just the tip of the iceberg; the main and bigger embarrassment came the following day when the school principal called both of us out, so our punishment will serve as a lesson to other students not to indulge in fighting within the school premises.
When I and the girl walked to the podium on the assembly ground, the principal gave me a dirty slap and told me in the process, "How can you beat such a young girl? Although the teachers quickly intervened and filled her in on how I was the one who was actually beaten up by the girl, the whole school heard it, and we were all in disbelief. Students were laughing, and even the principal couldn't hide their disbelief at how such a small girl could beat me up.
I bet the principal and some teachers who were just hearing about the incident mistakenly laughed. Well, who am I to blame them? If I were in their shoes, I would have mistakenly done the same, because I and the girl were just like David and Goliath as described in the Bible, so learning that someone as small as David beat Goliath will definitely warrant some disbelief and laughter.
The principal didn't later punish either of us; I guess the disbelief made him fall short of words and decisions on what to do. Believe me, I was so embarrassed that every day and several weeks thereafter, I can hardly walk around the school premises without someone reminding me of how I was beaten up by a small girl.
