Today I'll like to share with us how I make a prawn cracker, which I plan on using as dessert after meal and an alternative to purchasing ready made snacks for the kids, since high rate of inflation and hike in price as set affected my finances.
As the children will be resuming again to school on Monday, the need of buying snacks daily will pop up again, so to save fund, I decided to venture into pawn cracker, and I'll be taking your through how I mean it.
PROCESS
- Groundnut oil
- Prawn Crackers
And of course, your kitchen utensils (like frypan and a stove)
NB: in this situation I won't be doing the mixing of flours and co, instead I patronise a grocery store to purchase a solidify one.
Without further ado let dive into the pool of prawn cracker making process
- pour your your groundnut oil in your frypan and let it heat up
- once the oil shimmers, add some prawn crackers into it(maybe 4 or 5 depending on how big your frypan is)
- it'll puff within 5 to 10 seconds, then You can remove it and serve immediately or to preserve for later consumption, you can store it in a sealed container.
And here we go, our prawn cracker is ready for consumption.
Since the kids love eatng this product of Crimps cracker(image below) which cost about N70 each and you'll hard see upto 10pieces inside (even though N50 was writing on it Nylon), imagine buying for pieces daily, that's N200, and at the end of the week i will have spend N1000($2) on snacks alone weekly, I decided to buy raw ones which cost N500($1), after frying 20piece yesterday night, I still have enough to make another day. And it last for a whole week.
That's about N500($1) saved per-week, which is still something and can be use in other areas of house upkeep.
Thanks for stopping by my post
