Making A Top Forward Cake 🍰 As A Suprise🤭 Birthday Gift for my Neice

Hello Hive

Few days before the birthday of my Neice, I was lost in thought on what's best to get her as a birthday present, as she's been a channel of blessing towards me in many ways than I can relate to y'all, I later decide to fund a birthday cake which was to be made by her junior sister, who's a baker(of which I'm now her apprentice 🤭).

So now you know I'm not yet a certified baker, but I funded and assisted in the baking of the cake and I'll love to share with you the process of making a top forward cake(also known as standing cake). at the end of this post, I hope you'll be able to give it a try and baker something as lovely as This.👇

INGREDIENTS

  • Flour
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Yeast
  • Butter
  • Icing sugar
  • Preservatives etc...

PROCESS

NB: I wouldn't be giving you an exact measurements of what to measure for each items, cause Baking entails alot of measurement, and as an apprentice, I won't want to prescribe to expert like y'all ☺️, but if you're familiar with cake baking, then I guess the pictures will speaking louder on how a Top Forward Cake is being baked.

  • Prepare the pan by greasing the inside of the pan with butter or using a Parchment paper around the pan to prevent the cake from sticking to the pan.

  • Sieving the flour, measuring and mixing other above ingredients together and then pour into your prepared pan, and place inside the oven for about 45minute to 1hour. (Apologies for not sharing the pictures of the first 2stages, these were so because, I was the one turning the butter, handling the mixing machine and co while she does the measuring)

  • Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool off completely, then you can remove the cake from the pan and still allow it to cool more.

  • Mix your butter, whipped cream pourder and co together with the icing sugar, to make your cake icing cream. Then apply it to the cake with your pipping bag and grease your cake all around, then scrap the icing with your Cake scraper to attain a smooth cake.

  • To form your Top forward cake Cut a very small percentage of the cake like the image below, then grease a new cake plank and move your cake to the new plank(making sure it's now standing by the part that was cut off).

  • Thoroughly grease the cake once again, and smoothen it with your Cake scraper, then apply any form of design you wish to, but in this design we applied a edible gold leaf and gold by sprinkling it on the cake, and then add flowers, a happy birthday sticker and other cake beautifing items.
