Good day fellow needle workers and friends, its been a while since I last shared my shoe crafting skills and content and that's due to busy schedule at my new place of work, but today I've decided to grace your sight with this masterpiece of a Birkenstock sandals with a quality leather fabric that was made for a friend of mine.
This particular friend has place the order that I should make the Birkenstock sandals for him since January, but I've been able to meet up with that, and I suggested that he let my apprentice or workers do it for him, but he insisted I must be the one to do it, because he wasn't pleased with the once my apprentice did when he patronised them, so since he agrees to wait till I'm less busy, that's why I was just able to complete and deliver it few weeks ago.
His request was to make a three identical Birkenstock sandals for him with three different fabrics and colour and what I made is as seen above, below are some of the process of the making of one of these Birkenstock sandals.
Some materials used
- Noral sole
- Skin leather
- Birkenstock insole
- Buckle
- Sewing machine
- Oci gum
- Brush

Some making processes
After cutting each parts of the sandals and attaching them together, in the picture below I was busy sewing around the various edges of the leather fabric.
And here after completing the sewing I decided to attached the buckles to the leather fabric for the sandals upper in order to get the perfect shape and size before joining it to the insoles and outsoles.
And the picture below you can see I've joined the leather fabric to the Birkenstock insole.
While the last photo of the making process shows when I applied gum on the back of the Birkenstock insole and the noral for the outsole.
One of the major reason why I'm using this type of moral is because it's alleged to last longer than types that commonly come with the Birkenstock and ended getting damage few month after being used, I hope this one will last longer.

Here is a final picture of the 3 Birkenstock sandals by the time I concluded work on them. My friend loves it and even tipped me for a job well done.
Thanks so much for your time and support, have a blessed day ahead.
