Good day everyone, I hope this meet you well?, in line with my previous post here and here where I was explaination thoroughly on the pre-planting exercise I engage on, today is finally the day I planted the maize after a rainfall on the following day after I cultivated the farmland.
So after purchasing the maize from the market, I did some selection whereby I distinguish between the bad seeds and the good one's, because I want a maize harvest with healthy crop and not one's with bad harvest due to the bad seed planted, you know it's commonly said, that what you sow is what you'll ripe, as this applies to our lives is how it applies to planting too, because you cannot expect to ripe a rich crop from a place where bad seeds were planted.
Apologies I forgot to take pictures of the selection process, because I was trying to plant everything before the sun rises⛅ and get to its peak, which would have been more tiring working under such circumstance 🌞.
So after the selection, I and my brother @marsdave begin the planting of the maize seeds, by digging a small hope on the ridges and put two or three seeds inside each holes until every ridge as been planted on.
Since it rain overnight, then there is no need of wetting the soil, though I mostly depend on rain to water the maize now that it has been planted, but if it fails to rain for two days then I'll have no choice than to fetch water from the well to wet the plants.
This is my stage stage three #3 in the maize Challenge as instituted by @felixxx in his post, you can also join the Challenge and take us through all your stages and process of maize planting to Harvesting.
