Every single country around the world sets up a budget for the year, which basically outlines the systematic ways in which they spend those funds for the development of their various nations. Unfortunately, in the eyes of most citizens, it appears as though the government is not spending in the appropriate sectors that need much attention but instead diverting the budget into areas that aren't of much value or helpful to the citizens' or countries' development.
This has been a cause for alarm in different countries, and it's disheartening to see citizens wallow in pain or lack of the basic things due to the inability of the government to channel the country's budget to the appropriate places. With citizens who are actively involved in this budget via tax, the least the government ought to do is provide for or invest in things that will ease the cost of living and aid the chances of the citizens having access to some of the basics needs required for sustainable living in this present age.

WHERE BUDGET SUCH BE CHANNEL
There are countless sectors I can mention when it comes to listing important places where government can invest more of the country's budget, such as agriculture, education, health system, job creation that leaks into employability, and much more, but I kind of believe the one I'm about to mention and talk about encompasses every other one because it's a concrete addition that makes almost everything move smoothly and with ease in this generation.
ELECTRICITY
Since the advent of electricity, it has become an important part of world development and a basic need that eases almost everything around the globe. Unfortunately for my country, despite how big and blessed it is with several resources that can generate electricity, such as fuels, water, and even the sun via our connection to the Sahara desert, it's quite disheartening to see we still wallow in the absence of electricity in most parts of the country.
As we all know, the importance of electricity can never be overemphasized; it literally makes everywhere aspects and sections of facilities perform at their best when it's available. The availability of electricity in hospitals will ease things in the medical sector, and several pieces of equipment can be run 24/7 without breaking down midway due to a lack of power that can lead to life-threatening situations. The same is true for agricultural equipment and tea teaching materials that make knowledge dissemination much easier.
I can tell you for sure that many organizations are not coming into the country due to poor power supply because they needed it to run their various businesses effectively. The few organizations here now have to charge outrageous amounts because they needed money to cover for the losses they had in burning feuds to rule their businesses; a typical example of such are communication companies like MTN, Glo, and co.
One of the effects of lack of power is that we are not able to get the room temperature cool in this warm weather; another is how most of our food items in the fridge and freezer got spoilt due to lack of power for the past two weeks. I hope the government will have a rethink and spend much more in the power sector to improve power supply. If it were possible, I think in as much as they generate electricity from dams, they should also invest in solar energy since we are close to the desert in the northern part of the country; this will ease the overdependency on just the dam and make it much more favourable.

WHERE FINANCING SHOULD BE HALTED OR REDUCED
There are multiple places I personally believe the government is just wasting our budget on and should be brought to a halt, and one of such is funds like those given to kidnapped people, like those given to boko haram, herdsmen, unknown gunmen, ipob, militants, etc.; another is the one spent on the rehabilitation of criminals like boko haram; but for today, I'll be speaking on a different one entirely.
POLITICIAN SALARY AND ALLOWANCES
It's quite ridiculous and unimaginable to realize that one of the nations that isn't doing too well in the world is actually the nation that pays its politicians and law makers the most. The outrageous amount this set of politicians are being paid is too much, and it's quite funny enough to realize most of them don't even have more than a high school certificate or just a first degree certificate, and yet they'll get into power and set high requirements for those in search of jobs that won't even pay up to 3% of their own salary.
Their allowances are one of the other outrageous ways they loot the country, and I believe in a situation where both the salary and allowances are being reduced to meet up with the same minimum wage they've set for other civil servants, then most of them would either run away from politics or just strive to increase the minimum wage of civil servants to a substantial level.

That's about all on what I'll love to see the government invest much in and on which I would want them to reduce the fee to a minimal level, and it's worthy of note that I wrote this in response to Kronias' article that explains the Hive Learners community features prompt. You can read it through to get more information.
