How a power outage triggers disappointing customers

Power outages aren't pleasant experiences at all, and it's always annoying to experience them, especially when you need the electricity to perform one task or another. Down here in my country, power is something we're used to and experience almost every day, and sometimes it can drag up to months before it's restored. Today, I'll love to share my experience of a power outage.

On one of such occasions, when I was an undergraduate at the university and was learning tailoring alongside my schooling, I collected a bunch of deals to sew clothes for a particular program that was to be held in a church.   The church choir wanted to celebrate their week and chose clothing to be worn on that day. I was given the deal to sew the cloth for the guts among the choir, and although they brought it late, I assured them I'd sew and deliver everything on time because I relied on the electronic sewing machine of my friend, given the fact that my own manual sewing machine is faulty.

I was supposed to sew clothes for 7 guys, and that would have been achieved on a normal day when there's electricity within a few hours. Even though they brought the clothes 24 hours prior to the program,I put their minds at rest and didn't begin the sewing process immediately. Instead, I cut the fabrics into the desired shapes and went out to chill with friends with the hope that power will be restored by the time I'm back, and I'll use the fast pace of the electronic sewing machine to my advantage.

Before I realized our transformer had turned bad, it was already pretty late, and I had to rush back to the shop in the evening to begin the sewing with the manual sewing machine. I got to the shop before I remembered the manual sewing machine was faulty and couldn't be used, and that's when I began to panic around in search of whose sewing machine I'd use to deliver the clothes within the stipulated time.       After roaming tirelessly without any hope, I finally saw a tailor who agreed to let me use his sewing machine, but on the condition that I'd have to wait for him to conclude the sewing of the project he has at hand, I had no choice but to agree, and he didn't conclude the project until around 9 p.m., which meant I'd have to work all through the night at his place for me to at least meet up, and that was when I set out to work, using a lantern as my source of light to see while sewing the dress.   Things fell apart when I concluded the sewing of the fourth cloth at about 1 a.m. In the middle of the night, it happened that kerosine finished inside the lantern, and there was no means of getting another to refill it, and I had no choice but to go to sleep because my phone was dead, so I couldn't use the flashlight to continue the task.

To cut a long story short, that was how I slept at the man's place, and by the time I woke up in the morning to quickly continue the sewing, my host informed me that I'd have to join them in the morning devotion before I could do anything, which I obliged since I'd have no choice. After that was concluded, I could only sew one more garment before the choir guys came to me at that place and requested to collect the clothes because they'd have to travel to the next town where the program would be held.

Why this particular event was because I was disappointed at the fact that I disappoint my customers, and that only made them have more say in the popular narrative that tailors are promulgating disappointing their customers. Only five of the clothes were ready by the time their vehicles left, which meant two of them were unable to wear the uniform. I heard words and facial expressions of anger from others that day, but I had no choice but to keep apologizing.    Had there been stable electricity, I wouldn't have had any reason to disappoint them, and each one would have left my store satisfied rather than dissatisfied.
