Good day, hivers! It's been a stressful day for me today because I decided to pay a visit to my farm to do some work in order to put it in good condition before work resumes next week, and I'll be too busy to devote most of my time to it, so the task was to weed my entire surrounding area and the unwanted plants growing around my cassava plantation and other crops.
So to begin the job ahead, I pick up my old shovel, as I'm not sure that I can make do with a cutlass for the not-too-high weed. Also, shovels and hoes are safer tools to use around crops because using a cutlass can make one mistakenly chop off some of the crop, and that's going to be painful, given the effort that has been put in place to tend those crops till this stage.
Here are some pictures of how weeded the cassava plantation was before I began my job of clearing out the grass. Some of the photos also show our house's surrounding area is filled with grass, and this can be really dangerous because different dangerous reptiles can hide around it, so to be on the safer side, that's one of the reasons I'm doing this.
Weeding wasn't an easy task as I was sweating profusely under the scorching heat of the sun, but I persevered to conclude the task once and for all, knowing fully well that by this time next week, I might not have time to do this as I would have resumed work by then.
Below are some pictures taken while the weeding of the farm is still ongoing. As you can see, parts of the grass below were partly chopped down, while others were still awaiting the wrath of my shovel.
After all was said and done, I started clearing out the grassy areas of the ground so the environment and farm could be neat once again, and as you can see below, the farmland and my environment are much neater than they were some hours earlier. The clearing also helped reveal some grassy areas I didn't cut off perfectly, and I did justice to them thereafter.
That's about all of my homesteading tasks around my farmland. Though it's a stressful task, it's for the greater good to keep the environment neat and free from dangerous reptiles to hide in, and it will also help the crops grow better without having to share the little resources they get with other weeds.
Thanks so much for your time, have a wonderful week ahead.
