Hints for newbies on Hive

When you're new to a place, it's normal to feel lost, wary, and in search of people to put you through all you need to know to make you feel at home. The same is the case with most newbies who joined hive, except for those who were lucky to have dedicated onboraders who were willing to put them through the basics of hive. But regardless of all of their teachings, it's worth noting that your onborader alone can't tell you all you need to know, and here I'll be giving you some advice that will aid your progress on the hive.

Most of those who joined the hive only have their gaze on the reward, and in order to thrive on the blockchain, it's worthy of note that the reward, though important, must be welcomed in whichever form it comes until one is able to acquire the necessary knowledge that will aid one's progress on the blockchain. So in a nutshell, for a start, as a newbie, it's better to focus on acquiring knowledge about the blockchain in order to understand her concept.

Well, without further ado, let's move straight into my advice for newbies on hive blockchain, which is as follows:

Don't be discourage: Early days on hive can be very frustrating and discouraging due to the low turnout of people and upvotes on your post, but rather than let that get to your head, it's best to keep doing your thing, sharing quality, original, and helpful content on the hive blockchain, and before you know it, gradually you'll get recognized for who you are and your niche, and the results will also start showing forth on a gradual basis.

Engage with others as though your life depends on it: As someone who's new, your content will most likely be seen by few people, so in order to attract many people to your content, one way to do that is by engaging with other authors content. When you share quality comments that enhance someone else's content, they tend to want to know you more, visit your blog, and follow you, so engagement is more like an avenue to make friends and also open your content up to more visibility.

Learn, learn and learn about hive: No man is an island of knowledge, and to buttress this, even though I've been on chain for almost two years, I'm still learning new things, so in order to progress on hive, you'll need to acquire knowledge about hive. One way to get most of the basic knowledge about hives is through the @newbies-hive Initiative, where newbies are taught about the nitty-gritty of hives. The initiative has taken on a new shape and runs for three months twice a year; the next will come up in October. So if you'd love to know more, check out this post, or feel free to ask me for further information.

The above can be helpful tools to help you scale through on the hive blockchain, so try as much as possible to put them all to good use so as to enjoy your stay on the blockchain.

That's about all on my advice for newbies on the hive blockchain, I hope they'll find this helpful in their hive journey going forward.
