The importance of an adequate and standard health system in a society can never be overemphasized, as it can go on to save a soul and as well give adequate measures to combat any forms of ill health status of those around such vicinity. My country isn't really blessed with the best type of health care system, even though we've got some capable hands, yet they lack equipment and manpower to ease their job. Today I'll love to share with you my satisfactory and unsatisfactory experience at a healthcare center.

Firstly, it's worthy of noting that I'm not a fan of hospitals, and neither do I really love paying them a visit, probably because of the odd scent or because of the possibility of seeing I'll people all around, so I've had little or no reason to pay a visit to the hospital personally, even though I've got health conditions. But then, in order to fill up for both aspects that the prompt requested, I had to think deeply about the positive experience I've had at a healthcare center and finally remembered the one I shared below.
It was during the time I was to write my WAEC examinations, which is the high school leaving certificate for West Africa, that I became seriously ill. It was strange because 8 years prior to then, I'd never fallen sick or had any serious illness that'd make me get admitted to the hospital, but when this particular illness grew out of hand, I was taken to a neighboring local health center that treated me for about 3 weeks without any positive changes. As of then, our WAEC examinations had begun, and the school authority had to send someone to bring me my script to the hospital each time I had a paper. But when the situation was getting worse, my guidance took me to a proper private healthcare center, where I was admitted and given proper treatment after a thorough diagnosis was performed to know what's actually wrong with me. Although I did all of my WAEC examinations on the sick bed then, it was barely up to 3 days after I was admitted into the hospital that I had significant improvement and was fit again.

So I'll say that the private hospital I was admitted to had proper treatment, a conducive environment, and good equipment and staff that aided my swift recovery after spending 3 weeks elsewhere without significant changes, so that experience is what I'd call my satisfactory experience at a healthcare center. On the other hand, if I were to talk about my unsatisfactory experience, then I'd have a long list of experiences to share, but for today, I'll only share the one that scared me the most, and it was in 2021 when my junior brother was admitted to the hospital and had to undergo several surgeries. He actually underwent over five major surgeries that year alone, but one of them made me scared and unsatisfied about our healthcare system because, not long after he was operated on, the stitches used in stitching the operated part of his stomach began to wear off, and that happened to be a period when doctors were on strike. I was literally scared because all the stitches fell off, and I was seeing most of his internal organs. We don't have any money to take him to a private hospital, and neither can the previous surgeon who operated on him do anything because they're on strike and were not supposed to do anything until the strike is called off. Trust me, I thought he wouldn't survive that situation, but glory be to God that he did, and he's now fine.
It was a difficult and scary moment for me, but then the significance lessons I picked up from both experiences are to never be poor, but instead strive to be financially strong, so that I won't have any choice but to use a substandard healthcare center like that of the government, where the staff can decide to go on strike at any time due to them being overpaid or valued. Going to private hospitals that have good staff and equipment is the best option, and although it usually costs a fortune, it's better to visit them and be attended to swiftly than to join a place where it can take weeks before you're attended to because they're understaffed for the number of patients they've
That's all for today. That's so much for your time. Have a relaxing weekend ahead.
