Enhancing User Experience with a Unified DApp

Ever since I signed up on Hive a couple of months ago, it's worth noting that the innovation and improvements Hive has experienced within that period have been mind-blowing, and it's quite impressive to see a blockchain space that's driven by a positive mindset towards improving and becoming better. This has improved and literally made user experiences more enjoyable, and today I'll love to share a singular improvement I desire to see on the Hive blockchain.

Before I delve into my upgrade suggestion, I'll first love to give a shout-out to some of the teams of the top dapps on the Hive blockchain. Dapps like Peakd, Ecency, 3Speak, and Inleo have continually evolved over the years, improving their interface and making interaction with their dapp more user-friendly to the point where some of such dapps can literally stand firm against some top web-2 apps.

UNIFIED DECENTRALIZED APPLICATION

A singular upgrade I'll love to bring or suggest to the hive blockchain that I believe won't benefit just me but the entire users of this ecosystem: the development of a singular app that's literally embedded with all that's needed to make navigation, user experience, and transactions on the hive blockchain seamless and at the tips of our hands without needing to jump from one website to another before we can do some tasks or transactions.

  • PURCHASING TOKEN: For instance, if you want to buy a second layer token in the Hive engine, you need to first visit hive.blog internal market or hivehub.dev to covert your HBD to Hive, after which you'd then need to visit another webpage, which is either beeswap.dcity.io or leodex.io, and the likes, to covert your hive to swap.hive. Before you'll need to proceed to either tribaldex.com, hive-engine, or the likes to place your order for whatever token you want to purchase. The websites you need to visit are just too numerous, but having a singular dapp that has all these in it will make transactions like that much easier and swifter.

  • NOTIFICATION: The absence of notifications has made us miss some important information and happenings on Hive and with our account, and had it been there's an app where one could get notifications about our account, it would have been great. Yes, I know Ecency has this feature on their app, but not everyone uses it so I believe having a unified dapp that encompasses all of these features will be cool and would help us stay up-to-date with happenings on Hive and swiftly intervene if any suspicious activities are going on with our account, I know these features are available with some Discord tools like Friday bot, but combining them all in one place is the best way forward.

  • NEWBIES GUIDE: If I were to use Web 2 Space as an example, there is a page on their platform where a new user can easily read through to get acquainted with the dos and don'ts of the space, and some of this information isn't known to everyone except you're a thorough reader. In my opinion, if we are to have a unified dapp, it'll be great to have a segment where new users can visit to learn all about hive and where all the helpful tools and content that discusses what aids growth can be found.

  • WITHDRAWER: I understand many people have needs and may want to withdraw some of their earnings, and one way to do that is by first sending their tokens to a trading app like Binance which can be dangerous if one isn't cautious. I believe it'll be cool if Hive can integrate into the unified dapp, a space where everyone can easily trade their coins into their various fiat accounts swiftly. If we look at the Web 2 space, you would see that those who monetize their accounts don't require an external app before withdrawing their earnings, and I believe it'll be cool if such is integrated into Hive too.

  • GRAMMARLY BOT: Hive has always been a space that encourages original content and I've seen many authors get supported even though they've committed loads of grammatical errors in their articles. I'm also one of such people but I believe, moving forward, having a GRAMMARLY-like bot that helps correct grammar, punctuation, and the likes will go a long way in making Hive a space where everyone can come to read quality content that is cool and is free from grammatical errors. As I said earlier, a unified bot with this feature will be super cool and improve the performance of authors when writing.

  • LANGUAGE TRANSLATOR: I've come to see content written in different languages on the Hive blockchain and while I'm attracted to some of such content, I can't understand what is written because it's written in another language that differs from English. I believe it'll be pretty nice to have a language translator bot that can easily easily translate content to a language we understand. This will go a long way to foster communication and interaction with everyone instead of skipping their content because we cannot understand what they've written.

In a nutshell, with a unified dapp that can do all the aforementioned stuffs alongside threads, uploading of video content, and the likes, I believe this will improve and enhance the user experience and make navigating Hive seamless and understandable for everyone without reservation, regardless of how long they've been on chain, and much more.

That's about all the upgrades I'll be bringing to Hive if I have the privilege to implement an upgrade to Hive to help improve the user experience.
