Emergency funds saves the day

Having an emergency fund set aside for the unexpected is a attitude that usually helps saves the day when trying time arises, everyone wish for the best and work towards achieving them, but in a situation where the worse plays out, one must be able to at least have some emergency stuff to put things in order without having to face more lost due to an absent of it.

Just yesterday I was faced with some unexpected challenges, that as to do with my phone, the one through which I access hive, since I've no computer, the screen got damage and immediately I ran down to an engineer to help me fixed it, on getting to him, I was told it'll cost me nothing less than 15,000 naira to fix the screen, unfortunately I don't have up to that amount because the amount I had set aside as an emergency fund initially was 20,000 naira and I'll be needing nothing less than half of that to transport myself to place I'll be sitting for my promotion exam.

It's very disappointing that I don't have enough to get the phone fix, but then I should at least be grateful that I had kept that much for emergency, given the fact that I now had to deal with both the examination and the damage phone which are both an unexpected happenings I had no plans for initially.

Well fortunately for me, the engineer who as been a good friend decide he'll take just 10,000 naira from me for the time being, and then I can settle him later on when I've the fund, and that gives me room to easily scale through two challenging happenings that could have jeopardize my goals, ambition and chances of getting a promotion at my place of work.

Although the phone isn't fix yet, but due to the emergency funds I've set aside from months ago, now I don't have to start running rigorously in search of these funds.

So with that being said, I hope you learn from my experience and always set aside some amount of money, no matter how small it's, it could go on to help you in trying days when you didn't expect.

Thanks for your time.
