The year 2024 is right underway and moving at a steady pace, and loads of people have set their goals and even have a few things or events they're or aren't looking forward to this year. Just like everyone else, I've got the same, and although what I'm looking forward to this year might seem somewhat awkward to many others, it's for the greater good, and today I'll love to tell you all about mine. So it's been years since I've been ill and placed on a monthly medication to help stabilize my liver and well-being generally, and through the years I've tried as much as possible to stick to those medicines as much as I could until early last year when things went south, and all of a sudden I can no longer find the prescribed medicine anywhere around me, and when I later do, it has increased in price from around 10,000 naira to about 48 thousand naira. It's very challenging to keep up with that because that amount was literally over 50% of my monthly wages, so since then I've had the mindset of paying a visit to the hospital to see the doctor, and hopefully he'll prescribe any drug to me that is way cheaper and more affordable, but despite all of my efforts through last year, I couldn't meet the doctor, and those were during my busy schedule, and when I was less busy, the doctors were on strike, so I wasn't able to get in touch with them.
It's been about 8 months since I last took my medication. Although I don't feel much pain, I know how dangerous it's to bear the weight of a fatty liver and related illnesses, and that's why I've made it a point of duty to do all it takes to see the doctor this year. So you might be wondering why it's such a big deal, to the point where I made it one of my most anticipated to-do lists for this year. Well, the reason can't be far-fetched. First, health is wealth, and it's important to stay healthy in order to have a stress-free and peaceful life. And the other and most ambiguous reason is because the hospital I'm registered to for medical is in the previous state where I reside, which is over 400 kilometers, but since moving here, I've not moved my medical records to a nearby hospital, and that's one of the reasons why it's been very hard for me to see a doctor. So now I've made up my mind to request that my medical records from the previous hospital be forwarded to the new hospital so the new doctors can vet the situation and continue from where the last team stopped. Despite how strong and agile I look, it's worth noting that I'm scared. Who won't? I mean, I've seen people with the same illness who have been held bedridden, and I don't want my case to be so, and so I believe going to see a doctor on a regular basis and taking my medication as often as possible is what would help me prevent that, and that's exactly when it's what I'm looking forward to the most this year. That's about it for now. I hope you had a good time reading through, as regarding what I'm not looking forward to this year, I'll say, taking a loan. While taking a loan really helped me achieve a lot last year, I still don't want to dive into it this year because most times when I take a loan, my mind is usually there throughout until I've completely settled it, so in a nutshell, I'm trying to stay off a loan this year, and I hope I'll be able to stick by it, except when something really important comes in, that's would be a good and worthy course to dive into a loan. Thanks for your time. Have a wonderful year ahead.
