DOES EVERYONE REALLY HAVE A PRICE?

The saying "everyone has a price" is used to connote the idea that everyone can be brought, purchased, or persuaded to do things in the opposite direction of what they believe in if they are being offered a certain amount, and although this sounds ridiculous, it's something that happens almost on a daily basis, but does everyone really have a price?

Almost everyone comes out to say or has it at the back of their mind that they will never do a particular thing or another, but fast forward to when they're being offered a huge amount of money or items, and you see them change their stands by doing the opposite of what they said they would never do; some even went on to defend that course, saying it isn't really bad after all.

These have been the cases almost everywhere around the world, and now we don't even know who can be trusted to stay firm with their stands or options without letting them change because of what they were offered. As citizens, we have a big role to play if we want the world to be a better place, perfect for you and me.

I wrote these due to something particular that happened around me yesterday. It's obvious there has been money scarcity for some days, but yesterday I saw two political parties sharing money with their faithfuls, and it's funny how someone who has been canvassing for PDP for months jumps into a Labour Party gathering because he sees them sharing money. The same also happens when I see some of my friends, who won't stop shouting obidence on social media, dive into an APC gathering because of money that's been shared.

It seems ridiculous and a dumb thing to do at this critical time for the country when elections come up in less than 24 hours. Some of them were saying they were only after the money and would vote otherwise, which is their own choice, but I doubt such will happen, because for someone to give you such an amount of money, he or she will have the right to invade your privacy during voting. Well, I hope things turn out well.

But regardless of these people's acts and behaviors, I believe not everyone has a price. There are people around the world who stand by their word and will remain true to it no matter what forces militate against them to change their stands or the amount they are being bribed to utter anything; these are the kind of people we need to make the world a better place, and I hope you're working towards being one of such.
