Hello Hive
Today I'll love to share with you the diy process of how I made this gorgeous looking sandals for a client within one hour, yes you read that right, within 1hour!.
I was busy working on a palm slippers when a man walk into my store with his shoe in his hands (seems it cut while he was going along the road and decide to look for a nearby shoemaker shop to fix it).
So I enquire about what I can do for him, and he said he would have love to fix his cut shoes, but it as embarrassed him, so he'll love to build a new one, I suggested that he should buy from the ones in my showcase, but he insisted on me making one for him, that he's ready to pay the price I'm asking and also wait till I'm done.
PROCESS
Since I've excessive leather material in store, I just measure the size of his foot, then I cut out the Sandals upper.
The next thing I did was to fix buckles on the sandals upper that I just cut.
I will be using a brikenstock sole that an suppose to use for one of my regular clients, since the due date to deliver to him is still far.
After that, I cut out the under sole of the brikenstock.
The next step was filling of the sole so I can have a rough surface on the sole. Note: This is so important, because it'll determine how long the Sandals will last, because if the sole is not fill with the filling machine, that mean will we have a smooth surface, which won't allow the guming to last for a long time.
By the time I get through with the filling, he was getting impatient so I had to stop snapping, to work faster. The next step was applying gum on both the sole and the insole, and then joining it together with the sandals upper.
And here is the final outcome of the sandals before I remove it from the shoe last.
Immediately I remove the shoe last and was about to snap the finish work, he said he's late for an appointment, but promise to send it to me on whatsapp once her get home(we've exchange contact during the process of making the sandals), and below is the image he sent to me.
