Good day, creative minds in the hive! Blockchain, it's another segment of Creative Sunday, and today I'd love to share one of my creative explorations from a few weeks ago. This has to do with the changing of my door handle, which got damaged at a time when I was seriously broke. This hinders me from going out for awhile for fear that my stuff will be looted. Well, after a few days, I purchased a new lock and decided to fix it myself because I don't have what you're paying a professional, so below I shared how I got this done.
Before I dive into the process of how I replaced the new door handle, I'd love to talk a little about how several things just keep getting damaged consistently when we're broke. Take, for instance, my fan that got damaged a few days ago, and then the door handle followed suit. Well, unlike how I abandoned the fan, I couldn't do the same to the door because it's not safe to leave the house without shutting the door. The chat below even showed how I was telling Nkem and Glorydee what happened and how I tried to fix the old one through the night before I realized it couldn't be fixed but required a replacement.
TOOLS
- New door handle
- Screwdriver
- Tester (For Tinny nut)
- Steel Plier

REPLACEMENT PROCESS
- The issue with the door handle was that the key got stuck inside and the lock shifted out a little, so after trying to push it in or force it out and nothing happened, I decided to just lose it, out completely after purchasing a new handle, to lose this I needed screwdriver and plier, although some of the nuts where too rusty and wasn't loosing, so I had no choice than to force it out, and that's why it's bend after being completely removed. https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/vickoly/EpGR7uhSgScPDcvJZwxu7eViRvQAwq5oWzki2bdUV5iJjoxs7CXXkmoif2VWbg7nxMd.jpg

- After the old handle was completely removed, I unwrap the new one and gradually fix it into the open space, first steps was to inside the inner lock and screw it to the door.

- Once that was achieved, I inserted the iron rod that help makes the handle move simultaneously when pulled, after that I joined the handle cover to it and used a nut to attach it firmly to the door.

- When that was perfectly fitted, all I need to do next was to to tighten all the nut properly, so the nut won't loose off after few days of usage, and that's how I come to the end of replacing the door handle.
That's about all on how I replaced my door handle after the old one got damaged, although it's worthy of note that I won't have done this myself had hand more cash on me, but since I was broke and couldn't afford spending more money to pay a professional, I decided to replace it myself and I think I did an amazing job.
Thanks so much for your time, have a wonderful Sunday ahead.
