Reminiscing on past happenings in my life, most especially during my childhood, I can't help but laugh at some of those occurrences and some silly solutions I usually procure to situations around me within my mind. Some of these thoughts seem lame, but believe us, I was so sure of myself and the ideas I've had, to the point where I even wished I could get an audience with the ruling authorities so they could take my advice as needed. Well, . Well, today is the day I share them with you.
Hair styling gone wrong
I can remember a couple of years ago when I was still young and stayed with my grandparents. On one of those days, my grandmother took me to the barbershop to have my hair shaped because I've been shying away from doing that for a while, and now my hair is all grown. Well, if you don't know Africa's parents, they're always all about you keeping clean hair without hair, and on that occasion, she has to follow and make sure I do what she wants. On arriving at the saloon, the barber began his job, but unlike modern hair styling, this barber began by shaving the hair in front of my head, and for those in the middle and a few minutes into the barbing, there was a blackout. Nepa took the light, and the barber started panicking because he has no backup source of electricity. I was literally foaming because, looking at myself in the mirror, I look like a popular Nigerian actor known simply as Ajirebi.
With no means of continuing the shaving, the barber didn't bother taking any fee; instead, he suggested we visit another saloon to continue the process, but unfortunately, after walking around for about 10 minutes, I and my grandmother couldn't locate any barber salons that have a backup generator, and given the fact that I got injured a few months ago while she used a blade to shave my hair, she said she wouldn't be doing such a thing again, and that means I'll have to go to school with such a ridiculous hairstyle. And with that, I was so embarrassed going to school like that the next day. At first, I put on a cap but was asked to remove it by some teachers. I protested, but they insisted, and by the time I removed it and he saw it, he asked me to put it back on, but it was too late then because most students around me had seen it and made me a laughing 😂😂😂 stock around the school, I can bet the teachers themselves let out a smile before enquiring why my hair was as it's, That was so embarrassing, and it lasted months before it memories died down among the students, even though I was later able to shave it completely that same day after school.
Just Have a Decent Rest
I remember once visiting a neighbor who was seriously ill at the hospital when I was much younger. During my visit, I was so concerned about his health and well-being. Although I couldn't speak to him directly, he was in the intensive care unit and was said to be under live support. I overheard him struggling to tell my grandparents that he's in serious pain and hasn't been able to have a peaceful rest since he was transferred there. One of the reasons he mentioned for the sleeplessness was the various machines in the ICU and how they peep over and over again. Apparently he was scared each time he heard the sounds of the machines peeping, but innocent me on hearing that walked up to a doctor and pleaded with him to please shut down all those peeping machines in the ICU because it's negatively affecting my neighbors well-being. The doctor was taken aback by my utterances and had to find out why I said so. On finding out after narrating what the same said, he first laughed 😂 and enlightened me about those machines and that they're actually what's keeping my neighbor alive, because apparently He can't breathe steadily on his own. Though embarrassed, I learned a new thing, even though the majority of medical practitioners laughed 😂😂 at my statement before educating me about it.
That's about all for now, I hope you enjoyed the read, do have a productive week.
