It's no longer news that Arsenal usually have a poor run of form after January transfers. These have played out consistently for several seasons, and when they started so well on a positive note with everyone thinking this is probably the year they finally lift the league, then the same pattern and story seem to be hunting them once again.
It's very saddening to see that the first two games played after the January transfer haven't gone well with the team. Losing against Everton and then drawing Brentford is certainly not the way to go. These are games they ought to use to gather enough points to defend their title chase.
And now, from a possible 6 points that they should have accumulated after the January transfer, they only have one point to show for it. I hope things work out, but unfortunately, their next match is against their biggest title contender, against whom they would have given a sufficient gap regardless of what the encounter with them brings. But now, if anything other than a win for them happens during that encounter, the distance would be close to just 3 points.
A team who is really ready and has the intention to go for the title should be ready to go all in on the transfer market to get everyone that'll aid their title ambitions, but it seems as always that Arsenal have nothing in mind. I believe a team challenging for the title should have a quality squad depth that charges each other and gives the coach a headache on who to choose, but the reverse is the case at Arsenal.
Almost everyone can easily predict what the match day squad will be because these same guys have been used regularly, scheduled, meaning had Jesus not got injured, I'm certain he would have used the same squad throughout. The problem with these is that it makes a team predictable, and once the danger man has been identified, they'll be targeted and make sure to be kept silent throughout the game, and that's what is happening with Saka and Martinelli presently. Mudryk would have been a great fit that brings diversity into our attacks, but in the drying minutes to close the deal, we let Chelsea snatch him off us with a few extra pounds, although other incoming players were great as well. But I certainly do not trust the quality of Jorge, and the example is what happened immediately after he came on against Everton.
I truly hope and pray we find that spark once again and become the beast we once were before the transfer window, because teams like Manchester United and their city neighbors are already charging towards us, and another slit mistake will certainly make them catch up on us.
