During the weekend I decided to visit my Cassava farm after a prolong week of work which stood as an hindrance from going to the farm, but on getting there the sight that welcome me was so devastating and heartbreaking, I saw several goat within the farm premises tearing and crushing down my hard month of labour(these are farm products I've already had an agreement with a buyer, who in turn as paid 20% upfront).
I was move to tears, with rage of anger I felt at that moment, and I started throwing stone at the goat till they all ran out of the farm premises, and one of them got injured in the process.
if you zoom the pictures here, you'll see there are about four4 goat inside the farm here
here is a picture of the same farm three weeks ago before I clear the weed within the cassava
I know it's not their fault, at least not totally, but that of their owners who fail to keep them in check within his/her premises. This kind of situation make me miss my days of staying in Lagos state, Epe LGA to be precise. If such were to happen there, a rule as been set were livestock owner are been charge #20,000 from failing to stop their livestock from roaming around. Unlike here where all I get was a sorry after reporting to the community leaders.
It's will be recalled I posted somedays ago here about how I settle Disputes between the Farmers and Cattle Rearers, during my official duty with the USDA WEST AFRICA PRO CASHEW PROJECT at ODO EKU village. And now I'm a victim of such incidents too.
I hope things turn around for good and rules will be set in place to punish all livestock's owner and cattle rearers who fail to keep their livestock in check.
Thanks for taking out time to go through my post, have a blessed day ahead.
