A visit to my Cassava farm and harvesting some maize

##

HELLO HIVE

Just few days ago I pay a visit on my mini farmland, with the sole purpose of check-in up on my Cassava plantation, just to see how they're fairing and as well uproot the weeds growing within the piece of land, but I also use the opposite to harvest some maize which I later use as dessert alongside my friends.

It's been 3 month since the day I planted these cassavas and talked about it here and ever since then it as been growing gradually with ease, and since I didn't want to add an form of fertilizer to it, I let it grow at it own pace and hope it'll bring out a bountiful harvest like I had the last time.

So basically the major activity I engage on when tender to the Cassava is to check up on them twice a month, and try to clear all the weeds growing around it on each of such visit, of which I also did during these visit.

Also like I said earlier, after I got through with the Weeding of the grasses, I decided to harvest some of my few remaining maize, and these was because I had a call that two of my friends will be coming over to visit me, so I decide I'm going to entertain them with the maize.

So I boil the maize and by the time they came, I serve them the maize and we eat and gist as during the duration of their visit. IMG_20220727_164609.jpg IMG_20220810_205616.jpg

Now the amount of yet to be harvested maize at my farm is very minimal, due to the frequent time at which I harvest them, but it's been a blessing having them to save me during days when I have little or nothing to survive on, I most appropriate @felixxx for organising the maize Challenge, because so far it as been a blessing to me.

Also during my time at the farm, I also make it a point of duty to check up on my tomatoes once again, and I'm happy to see that they are getting bigger and bigger by the day, and soon I'll be Harvesting some of them, to be use in cooking our meal at home.

I've about 5 steam of tomoato loaded with tomatoes like the once seen in the pictures below, and I still have are yet to spring out any tomoato at all. IMG_20220810_144752.jpg

This is a view of my cassava farmland, and you'll notice there are just few maize steam almost them, unlike how it's was filled with many maize steam last month.

I don't know how long more we'll be in the raining season, I would have love to plant more maize, but even with the fact that we're in the raining season, it's been over 3 weeks since rain fell last here, so I guess I'll need to think if I'll have enough time to water the plants consistently should in case I decide to plant more.
