Firstly, happy Children's Day to all the kids, although ours was on the 27th of May, but then it's a thing of joy to facilitate with children in Venezuela and other parts of the globe on these wonderful occasions. Children are a gift and a treasure to parents and the world at large, and their arrivals in the family are always a delight to everyone. Today I'll love to pen down a letter to my goddaughter, because why not?
Well, I could have written to my nephew, niece, or mine, but then I see them often, so I decided to write to my goddaughter, whom I've not been opportune to meet since her birth, even though I watched her pregnancy grow on her mother's stomach. But a few months before her birthday, fortune smiled on their family, and they moved to the UK, leaving me with no choice but to only say hi to her videos, calls, and the like.
So my letter to her goes thus: Dearest Grace, I've always dreamt about being one of the first to welcome you to the world and as well play with you at most of my leisure time like I did with your elder sister, but then life happens and now you're in a fat distance from where I'm, and that means I might not get to see you anytime soon except I moved to the UK myself.
Your sister and I were best friends before your parents went abroad, and we were inseparable because she enjoyed being in my company while mom was busy. Even though I'm not there to be with you like I was with your sister, I'd like you to know that I care for you and would always look out for you as though I were there.

I can remember when you guys just moved to the UK and You were born; your mom was always worried and always complaining about the cold weather being too much for her to handle, and I can't help but imagine the effect it'll have on you. I even had to ask some of my hive friends I met here who reside in the UK to suggest mediums via which one can control the room temperature and the like, just so you'll be comfortable and stop having catarrh like your mom said you've been having lately.
The advice I got was instrumental in helping your parents get you in good shape, and that's to show how much I truly care about you, but then I'll love to encourage you to be a good child who doesn't disturb her parents. I was told you don't usually let your parents sleep at night, and the experience I've had carrying a crying baby throughout the night has given me insight into what your parents are going through through that act of yours. Please be a good girl, stay healthy, and you'll grow up to be great in life.
I wish you all the best in life and pray that you grow up in wisdom and good health and do exceedingly well in all that you lay your hands upon. Much love from your dearest godfather.
This is written in response to the motherhood community's prompt to celebrate children on the occasion of Children's Day in Venezuela and across the globe.
