HELLO HIVE

Joining the @newbies-hive initiative is one of the best thing that happen to me ever since I joined hive, via the initiative, I've been equipped with countless knowledge on how to navigate hive blockchain and as well enhance my writing skills beyond the relative noob I'm use to, so in this write up I'll be taken you through my response and understand to each questions from the second task given to we the current participants of the initiative.

MY EXPERIENCE SINCE I JOINED HIVE

Hive is a channel of Blessing to me personally and I think am gonna be forever grateful for what it as done to me, ever since I joined hive, my life as experience turn around positively in almost all ramifications;
  • because on hive I've got to learn and improve on my writing skills and use of words, before I joined hive I usually feel like I can't write upto 200 words, but now I've even gone beyond 800 words per post countless times.
  • I've got motivated to do better with my life via people's write-up and success stories shared on hive.
  • Also via hive, I've become financially stable/capable unlike how my life use to be before I got onboard to hive.

*Next I'll be sharing my thought/opinion on **plagiarism, vote begging and post recycling,** as stated in the initiative questions for the second task.*

PLAGIARISM

According to my understanding plagiarism is an intellectual theft of people's work or properties being used without proper reference to the original owner or author, it's believed that once your copy someone's work and refuse to give credit to the actual owner, that mean you're trying to claim such content as yours, people who does such has no other name than to be addressed as thief or impersonator.

**MY OPINION/ADVICE**
**Let me share a quote to cite an example for better understanding;**
Character is not a commodity that can be purchased. It is built by the decisions you permantly chisel on your heart. Strive for a reputation that will cause people to say, β€˜He means what he says.

There is a big difference between the three boxes above, the first box shows someone who copied someone quote and fail to give credit to the other, the second box shows someone who copied a quote and credit it author by placing his name beside the quote, while the third box shows a person who copied someone quote, give credit to the author by placing his name beside the quote and also drop a link as reference to where he/she copied the quote from.

I believe with this few explaination, we would have understood how to give credit to author's, and as well come to the realisation that plagiarism is not good, and most especially hive blockchain is against such act, and people found indulging in such are severely punished by @hivewatchers and most community moderators.

VOTE BEGGING

Vote begging is an act indulge in by some people because of their heart of desperation for financial reward, it's can also be liken to an act engaged in by people because of their sense of belonging, thinking they deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.

Vote begging isn't an act advisable for anyone to indulge in, because in your bid of getting upvoted, it could get such person annoyed and he/she will thereby downvoted your content, some could even place you on their black list or permanently place you on their auto downvote for engaging in vote begging.

**MY OPINION/ADVICE**
I know most of us felt we deserved better than what we usually get as reward on post, but my advice to you all is not to indulge in such out of desperation, I could remember when I first joined hive, my onboarder @monica-ene took it upon herself to always reblogged my post for more visibility, since she's aware there are every tendency of my content not being seen by many, and from this act, I gradually gain visibility and rewards from her followers, without me asking for it.

So as a newbie you can easily talk to your onboarder to do such for you, or better still, you should by yourself engage passively with other others on the blockchain, by leaving meaningful and impact comment that add value to the write-up, not comment like nice one, or good job etc, personal I see engagement and comment as an application letter being submitted to various author, such comment draws others to check out your content and sometime support you, it works for me till today and I believe it'll for you as well.

POST RECYCLING

Post recycling is an act whereby someone repost or rephrase an old content they've shared before with the hope of getting rewarded for it again, this isn't a good attitude to engaged it as a blogger on hive, and it could get such person severely punished for it.

**MY OPINION/ADVICE**

I believe most people who does such, are facing writers block, or other hindrance stopping them from posting, and what can be down to get over such could be as easy as stepping outside, see new stuffs and activities and you'll be inspired to put down something tangible.

Aside that, hive is a very open minded platform, where you can just share pictures, shadows, reflection, sunset images, and clouds and the likes, just grace such images with few words, then paste in the appropriate Community, this is better than recycling old content and get punished.

HOW HELPFUL AS THE TASKS POST BEEN TO ME?

I've learn a lot about markdowns via the video guide shared alongside the newbies initiative second tasks, before watching the video I had no knowledge about how to change the colour of a text or how to change the font of a word of sentence, but now I could do such and many more via watching the video, although I must give more credits to @mistural for her the helpful post she shared on markdowns, and as well always checking out on me to make sure I use the appropriate markdowns that'll make my content more appealing and readable for people to go through.

On a final note as I draw the cotton on my write-up on hive guide and markdowns, I'll love to appreaciate and give honour to those whom honour is due to, like the @newbies-hive and @hive-learners Community team for instituting this initiative that as helped and is still in the business of helping newbies find their foot on the blockchain and as well understand the do's and don't of the nook and cranny of hive, a very big thank you to y'all, God will continually bless everything you lay your hands upon.
